Position Summary-Swing Shift The Steel Warehouse Worker is responsible for supporting daily warehouse operations by providing customer service, handling and processing steel materials, and maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient work environment. This role ensures accurate order fulfillment and safe operation of equipment in compliance with company and regulatory standards. Core Responsibilities Customer Service &amp; Order Fulfillment<ul><li>Provide prompt, accurate, and professional service to customers</li><li>Pull, process, and load steel orders efficiently and according to customer specifications</li><li>Band, package, and prepare materials for shipment following established procedures</li><li>Accurately complete all required documentation for steel orders</li><li>Transport materials safely between storage and processing areas</li></ul>Material Processing &amp; Productivity<ul><li>Set up and operate appropriate machinery for efficient and precise material processing</li><li>Plan and organize work to maximize time, materials, and equipment utilization</li><li>Ensure all products meet quality and specification requirements prior to shipment</li></ul>Equipment Operation &amp; Maintenance<ul><li>Safely operate warehouse equipment, including but not limited to: shear, press brake, band saws, hot saws, chop saws, rebar bender, ironworker, drill press, punches, overhead crane, forklift, hydraulic press, and burner</li><li>Conduct routine equipment checks and perform basic maintenance when qualified</li><li>Report equipment issues or unsafe conditions promptly</li></ul>Safety &amp; Compliance<ul><li>Follow all OSHA regulations and company safety policies for handling, processing, and storing materials</li><li>Maintain a clean and organized work area, including sweeping and snow removal as needed</li><li>Participate in safety meetings and support workplace safety initiatives</li><li>Use proper personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times</li></ul>Teamwork &amp; Operational Support<ul><li>Assist in training new employees and supporting coworkers as needed</li><li>Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth operations</li><li>Perform inventory checks and support inventory control processes</li><li>Demonstrate reliability through consistent attendance and punctuality</li><li>Conduct all interactions with honesty, integrity, and respect</li></ul>Physical Requirements <ul><li>Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally</li><li>Ability to push and pull up to 80 pounds</li><li>Frequent standing, walking, bending, squatting, climbing, and reaching</li><li>Ability to handle, stack, and load steel products safely</li><li>Ability to work in varying weather conditions and moderate noise environments</li></ul>Qualifications Education &amp; Experience<ul><li>High school diploma or equivalent preferred</li><li>Prior warehouse or industrial experience preferred</li></ul>Skills &amp; Competencies<ul><li>Strong customer service skills</li><li>High attention to detail with a strong focus on safety</li><li>Ability to perform basic math calculations</li><li>Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn equipment and processing methods</li><li>Strong work ethic with demonstrated honesty and integrity</li><li>Ability to work independently and as part of a team</li></ul>
